as i clicked through youtube the other day, i found this 'chenrezig' clip, which uses a song with the same name, from our 1998 new age pop project u:man:tek. the song is based on a chenrezig mantra recitation.

chenrezig is renowned as the embodiment of compassion in the tibetan buddhist tradition. whenever we are compassionate, or feel love for anyone, or for anything, we experience a taste of our own true nature.

i am not following buddhism myself. but in a world of growing polarities today, found in social contexts, in political points of view, in relations between human beings from different cultural backgrounds, in the fields of art, philosophy, religions, etc., i feel that compassion is a quantum leap forward towards understanding, acceptance, respect, tolerance, sharing, exchange, communication, etc.

compassion is one of the intentions worth being adopted for the new year 2012.
this is my new year's wish for all of you.
